The Switzerland part of our trip was planned by Alpenwild. We got a pretty good description of how to get where and the trip included two
tickets for each of us. One is a round trip ticket
that we used to go from Basel to Lauterbrunnen and for our final trip from Grindelwald
to Zurich. The other is a half price ticket that we used for the shorter train rides and gondola's during the next few days.
We got to the train station in Basel and checked out the layouts. Geneviv and Cerita arrived in time for us to try to catch a half
hour earlier train, but when we went to the station, that train was actually leaving from a different track and we just missed it. The ride
from Basel to Lauterbrunnen took about 2.5 hrs.
We dropped off our luggage at Hotel Silberhorn then began a walk up the Lauterbrunnen Valley past the Staubbach Waterfalls. We were heading
to find the Trummelbach Water Falls, but made a wrong turn so it was a longer route we were taking. Marilou was traveling a little slower than us,
and when we found out we had gone past the falls on the wrong side of the stream, I headed back to Marilou while Geneviv and Cerita continued
to the falls. Turns out we were closer to the falls than I thought.
